Just in case nobody noticed, a Senate committee just approved oil drilling in ANWR. You see, it’s an urgent measure to relieve our nation of those high oil prices as soon as possible. However, as the article states, “the refuge would not offer any short-term relief, because it would take about 8 years for oil production there to reach peak levels of about 1.4 million barrels a day.”
