Has anyone else ever noticed that there are a lot of pigeons in downtown Atlanta? Sometimes it can be pretty fun to scare a flock that gathers in the GSU Student Plaza or in Woodruff Park. But when I’m eating lunch on Broad Street, they can be as much of a nuisance as some of the (other) beggars in the area.
New York apparently has a similar problem in Times Square, and they’re doing something about it. They’ve hired a few folks with trained hawks to scare the living carp out of the pigeons and chase them away. It would be interesting to see if something like that could work in Atlanta, too!
