First, I have to apologize for my long hiatus from blogging. Things at school and in the personal life area have gotten me bogged down with, well, life and stuff. I’ve also been taking this time to engage in some off-line reflection on my blog and ask myself about what I really would like to publish.
Typically I don’t like to sit around and repeat what others are saying. If others are already saying what I’d like to say, then the most I can do is say, “look what this person said. I agree!” That doesn’t really contribute a whole lot to any discussion.
In any case, my Passages entries have allowed me a chance to present some of the outside reading material I read and relate it to modern issues. My blog entries about school have allowed me to voice how some of the decisions that are made on campus affect me personally.
I’ve also taken this time to try to keep up with some of the other blogs out there. In reading other blogs, I’ve noticed that some of the most active blogs (the ones receiving the most comments) also publish multiple entries every day. To be honest, I’m not sure how any one person can have so much to say. Really, for me to try to keep up with the daily rantings of Matthew Y. I would have to implant myself in front of the computer and never go out. Sorry, Matt, but I have a life.
So, that leaves me with me. How often should I publish my blog? What should I blog about? If I actually answer these questions, would I be able to follow through with however I commit myself? Or, should I remain uncommitted and just publish whatever I feel like publishing whenever I feel like it?
It’s all in a day’s work of finding my voice and figuring out what it is I have to say that’s not only worth saying, but also worth it for others to listen.
I will blog more, but just give me a little while as I sort things out in my non-blog life and you will hear from me again.
